The 28th Nike Tournament of Champions was held Dec. 18-22 at Legacy Sports Park on the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa. Below are the championship results and all-tournament teams for the top two Federation (Vincent Cannizzarro and Joe Smith) divisions and the Non-Federation (Clare Droesch) division. Approximately 220 college coaches (majority NCAA Division 1) attended one or more days of the event.

Idaho makes big splash: Idaho teams captured a pair of division titles, with Eagle High defeating Legend High of Colorado by a 38-32 margin in the John Anderson Division final, in addition to Coeur d’Alene High producing a 60-44 victory against Villa Park High from California in the Dan Wiley Division final.

VINCENT CANNIZZARO DIVISION (TOP FEDERATION DIVISION)

Bishop McNamara High School of Forrestville, Md., defeated Long Island Lutheran High School of Glen Head, N.Y., 61-58, in the championship game.

For the first time since 2011, the championship game of the top division (Vincent Cannizzaro) did not feature a team from California.

Bishop McNamara won its first Nike Tournament of Champions title since 2003, when the Mustangs defeated Christ the King of New York by a 57-48 margin.

Bishop McNamara was the first Maryland program to advance to the top division final at the Nike Tournament of Champions since 2015, when Riverdale Baptist competed in the Joe Smith Division championship game and suffered a 75-70 setback against Stockton St. Mary’s of California. In beating Long Island Lutheran, Bishop McNamara avenged a 63-56 loss from December 11 to the New York-based squad.

Long Island Lutheran reached the Vincent Cannizzaro Division final for the third time in four years, including winning the championship in 2022 against La Jolla Country Day of California by a 63-50 margin.
