The 2024 Grassroots Power 25 is here!

RANKING THE BEST CLUBS IN THE NATION

April 1, 2024 | Hoops Review Grassroots Power 25

1. West Virginia Thunder GUAA - Johnson

Bringing back the core group from the 2022 GUAA championship team and 2023 Final Four team, this WV Thunder GUAA group is the clear #1 team heading into the season. ‘25 Dee Alexander and ‘25 ZaKiyah Johnson are both top-five players in the country and a force to be reckoned with. Adding ‘27 Ivanna Wilson-Manyacka gives this another weapon for opposing defenses to worry about. This loaded roster is being quarterbacked by the best coach in the country, and you can see why this team will be so difficult to beat all season.

Key Players

2025 - Dee Alexander

2025 - ZaKiyah Johnson

2027 - Ivanna Wilson - Manyacka

2. All Iowa Attack - EYBL

AIA had a great run at Nike Nationals in 2023, finishing in 2nd place in the Nike EYBL. This team has reloaded in the off season, adding three top-25 players in the country who make All Iowa Attack the most talented team on the Nike Circuit. This will be a very well coached group and no one would be surprised to see All Iowa raising the championship banner come July.

Key Players

2025 - Aaliyah Crump

2025 - Jordan Speiser

2026 - Addison Bjorn

2026 - Jenica Lewis

3. Cal Stars - EYBL

Cal Stars has a rich history of winning and sending players to the next level. This season should be no different, led by superstar ‘25 Jazzy Davidson and Iowa commit ‘25 Addie Deal. They recently landed ‘28 big Syndey Douglas, who will also be a key contributor.

Key Players

2025 - Jazzy Davidson

2025 - Addie Deal

2028 - Sydney Douglas

4. FBC United - GUAA

Putting FBC United at #4 was extremely difficult. I think the entire grassroots basketball community can agree that FBC has held down the #1 spot for the last 5 seasons. This season is a bit of a rebuild, but we would be unwise to bet against Mo Motton. FBC will be aided by a huge late addition in ‘25 Lara Somfai, who will shoot up everyone's rankings after a stellar season at IMG Academy. ‘26 Kelsi Andrews is back after suffering a season ending injury in 2023.

Key Players

2025 - Lara Somfai

2025 - Aubrey Beckham

2026 - Kelsi Andrews

5. Jason Kidd Select - P24

The 2023 S40 champs are back, and have made some very key off-season additions. ‘25 Taliyah Henderson will immediately jump into the starting lineup, replacing S40 league MVP ‘24 Jordan Lee who is off to Texas. ‘26 top-five ‘26 McKenna Woliczko will carry the scoring load after an incredible season leading Archbishop Mitty. Returners ‘26 Devin Cosgriff and Stanford commit ‘25 Carly Amborn will also be key contributors to this roster.

Key Players

2025 - Taliyah Henderson

2025 - Carly Amborn

2026 - McKenna Woliczko

2026 - Devin Cosgriff

6. Cy Fair - EYBL

Talent, Talent, Talent. This team is LOADED with talent. Led by the #1 player in the 2025 class Aaliyah Chavez, this Cy Fair group has aspirations of a 2024 Nike Nationals Championship. This group also features three other top-40 players in the 2025 class. CY Fair won Nike Nationals in 2022 with Chavez on that roster and we know she would love nothing more than to raise that banner a second time.

Key Players

2025 - Aaliyah Chavez

2025 - Ayla McDowell

2025 - Isabella Hines

2025 - Aniya Foy

7. Hardwood Elite - 3SSB

The 2023 3SSB champs return multiple key players, led by 6-foot 4 ‘25 Sienna Betts, who is considered the best big in the country regardless of class. She alters the game on both ends of the floor and we expect Hardwood Elite to have a chance at repeating as the Adidas champs this season.

Key Players

2025 - Sienna Betts

2025 - Brooklyn Stewart

2025 - Quinn VanSickle

8. Philly Rise - EYBL

This program continues to dominate each and every season. They are a bit younger this season, but the talent is there for this group to be a contender at Nike Nationals. ‘26 Olivia Vukosa is currently ranked #2 in her class and every time we watch her play, it's hard to believe someone is ranked ahead of her. Her game continues to evolve and there is no ceiling on how good she can be.

Key Players

2026 - Olivia Vukosa

2026 - Atlee Vanesko

2027 - Jordyn Palmer

2027 - Jessie Moses

9. SA Finest - GUAA

After dominating the Addias circuit for the past few seasons, SA Finest has moved on to the GUAA circuit for 2024. With high-major guards ‘25 Leonna Sneed and ‘26 Bella Flemings in the backcourt, we expect the Finest to hit the ground running this season. Don't forget about ‘26 wing Amari Byles either, who will continue to shoot up the rankings as she gets better each and every time we see her play. SA Finest teams are always extremely well coached, and we expect the program success to continue again in 2024.

Key Players

2025 - Leonna Sneed

2026 - Bella Flemings

2026 - Amari Byles

10. Team Lex - 3SSB

Team Lex is back in 2024 after having a difficult 2023 season due to multiple injuries to key players. ‘25 Keeley Parks is fully healthy and showing the nation just how good she really is. We also expect a huge season from ‘26 standout Kamora Pruitt, who continues to improve each season.  This Team Lex group is extremely deep and will really get after you on the defensive end.

Key Players

2025 - Keeley Parks

2026 - Kamora Pruitt

2027 - Eve Long

2027 - Finley Chastain

11. Team Takeover - EYBL

Team Takeover is always mentioned as one of the top programs in the country, and this season should be no different. TTO will bring a very strong roster to the court this spring, led by ‘26 Jayla Jackson - a top-3 prospect in her class.

17U Roster

2025 - Zhen Craft

2025 - Mary Amoateng

2025 - Riley Hamburger

2025 - Kennedy Austin

2025 - Maisie Crowley

2025 - Ariana Meriedy

2025 - Princess Moody

2025 - Amirah Anderson

2026 - Jayla Jordan Jackson

2026 - Autumn Fleary

2027 - Qandace Samuels

12. Cal Sparks - EYBL

The reigning EYBL champs will be right in the thick of it again this year. Returning stars ‘25 Grace Knox and ‘25 Aliyahna “Puff” Morris anchor this squad that will have one of the more talented roster in the country. Look for Knox’s recruiting to skyrocket now that she is fully healthy and ready. As always, the Sparks have prospects in every class and it looks like ‘26 Arynn Finley is another one to watch after a breakout year at Etiwanda in California.

Key Players

2025 - Grace Knox

2025 - Aliyahna “Puff” Morris

2026 - Arynn Finley

13. Wisconsin Lakers - GUAA

Bringing back 7 kids from last year's squad makes this team extremely dangerous. College coaches couldn't get enough of this Lakers team last season. They are hands down the most entertaining offensive team in the country with the ball movement and three-point shooting ability they display. Expect a breakout season from ‘26 Natalie Kussow as she is a top 20 player in her class.  Making the move from S40 to GUAA shouldn't be a problem for this group and we fully expect to see them in the final four when it's all said and done.

Key Players

2025 - Makena Christian

2025 - Amy Terrian

2025 - Anna Terrian

2026 - Natalie Kussow

14. Example Sports - GUAA

This should be the best team Barry Bradford has put together since starting Example Sports. Led by high-major back court ‘25 Divine Bourrage and ‘25 Destiny Jackson, this team should be able to compete with anyone. Adding ‘26 Kamrah Banks was a huge addition and might be the missing piece for this Example squad.

Key Players

2025 - Divine Bourrage

2025 - Destiny Jackson

2026 - Kamrah Banks

15. HUrban Legends of Jersey - P24

Last season the country was put on notice of just how good ‘25 Mia Pauldo really is.  With the other half of the Twin Backcourt out with an injury, Mia was forced to take her game to new heights. She was able to do that and then some by dominating all July with multiple 30+ points games against top competition. Luckily, she will have her sister ‘25 Mya Pauldo, who is also a top player in the 2025 class back this season to help take this team to the top. We cannot wait to see this team in April!

Key Players

2025 - Mia Pauldo

2025 - Mya Pauldo

2025 - Jada Snow

16. Elevate Elite - 3SSB

After winning the 16U Adidas championship in 2023, this team has aspirations of winning the 17U Adidas Nationals in 2024. Bringing the core of this team back led by standouts Calyah DeVillasee, Loygn Greer, and Sanai Green, we fully expect this team to be in the mix for a title.

Key Players

2025 - Calyah DeVillasee

2025 - Logyn Greer

2026 - Sanai Green

17. Legends U - P24

After winning the 16U championship and finishing as runner up in 17U division during the 2023 S40 league season, the Legends U program plans to be in the running for more championships again this year. ‘26 superstar Saniyah Hall is clearly one of the top 3 players in the country after dominating at the 17U level last season, and 6'4 ‘25 Kira Reynolds will anchor the paint on both ends of the floor for this team. Keep an eye on ‘27 Sydney Savoury, who is ready to be a big piece on the top team this season.

Key Players

2025 - Kira Reynolds

2026 - Saniyah Hall

2027 - Sydney Savoury

18. Utah Lady Prospects - 3SSB

The Lady Prospects made a run to the final four at Adidas Nationals in 2023, and are hoping to get over that hump this season. Bringing back stud ‘25 point guard Emilee Skinner makes those goals a lot more achievable. She will be the best guard on the Adidas circuit this season and opponents will have their hands full defending her.

Key Players

2025 - Emilee Skinner

2025 - Sidney Anderson

2025 - Jada Ojukwu

19. Team Curry - GUAA

This team has huge upside after bringing back some key returning players while also adding some new key pieces. Newcomer ‘26 Abuna Roup stands at 6'8, and her presence in the paint will make this team very difficult to score on. Retuning guard ‘25 Kamryn Kitchen had a lot of success at the 17U level last season, and we expect her to take an even bigger step forward in 2024. Don't be surpised to see Team Curry in the GUAA final four at the end of July.

Key Players

2025 - Kamryn Kitchen

2025 - Kate Sears

2026 - Abuna Roup

20. West Virginia Thunder - GUAA - Riego

Adding the #8 player in the 2025 Class in Leah Macy was a huge addition for the WV Thunder Riego squad. She will be one of the top players on the GUAA circuit this season after putting up huge numbers on the EYBL in 2023. Danny Riego will be coaching this highly regarded team and is ready to make his GUAA debut in 2024. We expect this team to be in the mix for a championship come July.

Key Players

2025 - Leah Macy

2025 - Maya Makalusky

2026 - Zaniyah Williams

21. Exodus - EYBL

This Exodus team is much younger than the teams of the past. With a loaded 2026 and 2027 class led by Gigi Battle, Olivia Jones, and Ryan Carter, this team will still be able to compete at the 17U level in 2024. Exodus is well known for wearing teams out with the full court style of defense for 32 minutes straight. Our advice would be, do NOT sleep on this team, as they are going to give every team their best shot.

Key Players

2026 - Gigi Battle

2026 - Olivia Jones

2027 - Ryan Carter

22. Empire State Blue Flames - P24

The three headed monster of Lena Girardi, Camdyn Nelson, and Julia Scott are going to be a nightmare for opposing teams to deal with. ‘25 Nelson is a Syracuse commit and led this team to 16U runner up performance in S40 during the 2023 season. ‘26 Julia Scott handles the dirty work inside for this team, while ‘25 Lena Girardi is a huge addition and could be the missing piece to put this team over the edge this season.

Key Players

2025 - Lena Girardi

2025 - Camdyn Nelson

2026 - Julia Scott

23. Team Trae Young - 3SSB

After not having a program in 2023, Team Trae Young 3SSB is back with Amber Mathurin running the show. This team will be led by her daughter, Nebraska commit ‘25 McKenzie Mathurin, and Oklahoma commit ‘25 Keziah Lofton. Newcomer ‘26 Rieyan Desouze will handle the point guard duties for this team and make them a very tough out on the Addias circuit this season.

Key Players

2025 - Keziah Lofton

2025 - McKenzie Mathurin

2026 - Rieyan Desouze

24. Mac Irvin Fire - P24

This will be a far different roster than the one assembled in 2023 but we expect this group to be just as strong.  Mac Irvin Fire teams will always rebound and play defense, no matter who is on the court. ‘25 Nikki Kerstein is a high major player and is expected to pick up the scoring load for the Fire this season. Keep an eye out for ‘26 Alyvia McCorkle who has a great winter season and will be a key contributor on this roster.

Key Players

2025 - Nikki Kerstein

2025 - Monique Mitchell

2026 - Alyvia McCorkle

25. M-14 Hoops - 3SSB

The biggest winner of this off season might have been M-14, landing ‘26 Trinity Jones. Trinity is a game changer with her athleticism and ability to take over games. The supporting cast for M-14 is also very strong which gives them a legitimate shot to win Adidas Nationals this season.

Key Players

2025 - Nora Ezike

2025- Ariella Henigan

2026 - Trinity Jones

Northwest Blazers GUAA, North Tartan EYBL, Essence EYBL, MCW Starz P24, Minnesota Fury GUAA, Pro Skills EYBL, Team Why Not EYBL, TN Flight EYBL, Supreme Team GUAA, Mass Rivals 3SSB, Bay State Jaguars GUAA
