Overtime Select

September 14-15, 2024 | Atlanta, GA

Held at the Overtime Elite (OTE) Arena in Atlanta’s Atlantic Station, Double Dynasty took home the championship of the inaugural Overtime Select with semis and final held September 14-15, 2024.  The first two round (two groups of four with four teams advancing) were held at the facility in mid-August.

Overtime Select is a mini version of the well-funded Overtime Elite boys’ program held at the same facility.  Approximately 30 high school age male players train, play and are educated during the school year while being housed at nearby apartments. Opened in 2021 costing many millions of dollars to build, the facility is state of the art with arena (over 1200 seating), two practice courts, a weight room, a medical training area, a walk of honor with player posters, a dining area with fresh food preparation, a massive audio-visual area to produce online content, plus meeting rooms and staff offices.  According to the Overtime administration, Overtime has around 100 full time employees in various capacities. This year’s Overtime Select (huge success) was the corporation’s first major involvement in the girls’ game. What will come next is open to speculation.  Regardless, their first foray in this area was a slam dunk success!

See photos of some of the areas of the facility.  In time, this should become known as one of the most significant facilities involved in basketball!

All expenses paid!

Overtime Select spared no expenses with transport, lodging and meals fully covered for player and parent/guardian.  Locals had the option of commuting or staying at the nearby (walking distance) Embassy Suites Midtown Atlanta.  DO NOT TURN DOWN IF INVITED TO PARTICIPATE!!  It is a special experience.

Quality up and down the roster!

If you go to the Overtime Select roster, these teams (even those eliminated prior to the semis) were stacked front to back.  All games are archived on YouTube.  Some amazing matchups but yes, a few blowouts!  The fourth quarter of the final on Sunday was MUST SEE TV. The semi-final of Kaleena Smith vs GG Banks was another good battle to take a look at.  From earlier rounds, GG Banks posting a triple-double vs Aaliyah Chavez (ESPN HoopGurlz 2025 #1) of Venom Tears is another to watch.

Looking at our selections for an unofficial Overtime Select All-tournament team [must reach final four to qualify] in alphabetical order with height | position | graduation year |team in event (high school and state location of school in parenthesis). The MVP selection corresponds with the official pick of the event.

Jezelle”GG” Banks | 5-9 | point guard | 2027 | YGE (Ursuline Academy, Delaware)

Banks put up some incredible numbers at Overtime Select.  For three games (lost in semis to ISO WRLD), she averaged 20.7 ppg, 8.3 apg and 6.7 rpg. In game one, she posted a triple-double in a win over Venom Tears.  Recently she was ranked #6 in the 2027 ESPN HoopGurlz rankings.

Sienna Betts | 6-4 | center | 2025 | All Knighters (Grandview High School, Colorado)

Verbally committed to UCLA, Betts is a strongly built lefty who mostly goes left but can go right. She displayed good mobility in doing so scoring mostly in the lower paint.  She is currently ranked #2 for 2025 by ESPN HoopGurlz. For the three games, she averaged 24.7 ppg, 14.0 rpg shooting 56.4% from the field.

Jazzy Davidson | 6-1 | guard | 2025 | All Knighters (Clackamas High School, Oregon)

A long lefty, Davidson can score at all three levels posting 24.7 ppg, 10.7 rpg, 5.7 apg and 3.3 blocks per game in three contests (her team lost in the semis to Double Dynasty).  She is ranked #3 in the class of 2025. Like Betts, she likes to go left but on occasion will go to her right in attacking the rim.

MVP: Kate Harpring | 5-10 | guard | 2026 | Double Dynasty (Marist High School, Georgia)

Harpring started the event coming off the bench (unheralded) in game 1 turning a double-digit deficit into a 24-point win while posting 22 points. In the final, she led her team with 21 points but perhaps more significantly held ISO WRLD star Kaleena Smith scoreless in the 4th quarter turning a seven-point deficit after three quarters into an 83-73 victory. For the event, Harpring averaged an efficient 19.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg, and 2.3 apg on an amazing (for a guard) 58.6% from the field.  Two days after earning Overtime Select MVP honors, ESPN HoopGurlz moved her from #18 to #2 in the 2026 rankings.

Kaleena (Special K) Smith | 5-6 | point guard | 2027 | ISO WRLD (Ontario Christian School, California)

Many scouts would tell you Special K is not just #1 in the 2027 class (as ESPN HoopGurlz has her ranked) but the best guard in any class in high school today.  She can beat you with scoring (20.8 ppg over four contests in Atlanta), assists (7.8 apg) and steals (2.5 per game). On track for MVP honors, she posted 20 points through three quarters in the final. Then the title (and MVP) slipped away as Kate Harpring held her scoreless.

Honorable Mention:

Oliviyah Edwards | 6-3 | forward | 2026 | YGE (Elite Sports Academy, Washington)

Edwards is the best athlete in the 2026 class having superior height with agility and above average skill.  Long term, she has the physical tools to be the #1 recruit (currently #4 by ESPN HoopGurlz) but has not yet shown enough development consistency in production to put her quite that high.  At Overtime Select, she appeared to be making progress averaging 12.0 ppg (54.8% from the field), 8.3 rpg and a block per game.

Kelis Fisher | 5-8, guard | 2025 | ISO WRLD (IMG Academy, Florida; hometown Baltimore, Maryland)

Committed to UCONN, Fisher has been considered a talent for a long time, but the up and down nature of her outings game to game and within game have been a pattern. This summer in general and at Overtime Select in particular, significantly more consistency of quality play was present.  For the four games in Atlanta, per game she averaged 19.0 points, 2.8 assists and 6.3 rebounds shooting 47.5% from the field playing hard at both ends.  She is currently ranked #28 by ESPN HoopGurlz.

Bella Flemings | 5-10 | guard | 2026 | ISO WRLD (Brennan High School, Texas)

Due to a combination of injury and absence, Flemings played a greater role in the final than their opening weekend. She played impressively on both ends of the floor – physical defensively and with quite the display of shooting. For the event she shot a team high 40% for threes showing why she is considered one of the state of Texas’ elite shooters. She is ranked #12 in her class by ESPN HoopGurlz.

Mya Pauldo | 5-6 | point guard | 2025 | Double Dynasty (Morris Catholic High School, New Jersey)

Pauldo watchers would tell you this is the less offensively talented of the twins (committed to Tennessee).  Ranked by ESPN HoopGurlz #54 to twin Mia’s #14, Mya is considered more of the point twin in high school. Here, Mya scored 43 to Mia’s 41 shooting 46.7% from the field to Mia’s 35.1%.  Mia outdid her in assists 22 to 7 for the event sort of having a change in roles! Regardless, the “Pauldo gap” may be narrowing between these talented sisters.

Deniya Prawl | 6-2 | forward | 2025 | Double Dynasty (IMG Academy, Florida; hometown Toronto, Canada)

Prawl is a well-built, athletic forward who likes to operate in the wing to baseline area but hits the boards hard.  She was Double Dynasty’s second leading scorer averaging 12.0 ppg, and 7.5 rpg shooting 50.0% from the field.  She is ranked #13 in the recently released ESPN HoopGurlz rankings.
